I know what you’re thinking, this title vaguely reminds you of a song from the early 2000’s. And maybe doing a parody of a song is cliche, but I couldn’t miss this opportunity….
“cue the music”
As I search through the hours of endless forums online
I take a look at my printer and realize I need a lifeline
Coz’ I’ve been clunking and adjusting so long, that
Even I can’t remember where the repair went wrong….
Been spendin’ most their lives,
Livin’ in a printer’s paradise
Been spendin’ most their lives
Livin’ in a printer’s paradise
OK. That’s enough of that and you’re welcome.
Well I guess I should introduce myself.
My name is Nathaniel and I oversee the Digital Marketing here at Digital Media Warehouse and since the blog was new I wanted to do something a little different. I know that some of you may have found it weird, and I did too, but we can only look to the future and not on the past. Seriously though. Let’s forget that ever happened.
If you have made it this far, I know you are with me for the long haul and for that I thank you.
I know sometimes the wide-format print industry can throw so many terms out there and things just get confusing. When I first started in the wide-format industry I had no idea what 24×36 meant or what a wide format printer even looked like, but I just nodded my head and pretended I knew exactly what that guy was talking about. And look, here I am today.
In our society today, we focus on watching YouTube to fix and troubleshoot our problems. I mean, I know I do it too. And the wide-format industry isn’t any different.
But if you are like me there is a point of no return.
That point where you have 30 screws removed and you just stand there holding your screwdriver thinking, what have I done?
Then you have to call someone and then try to explain what you did and why you did it. Then they give you the bill. The dreaded bill. Oh and by the way the bill is now 2 times as much because not only did they fix the original problem, they fixed every problem you created. And then they go on about how, “If you would have just called in the first place, the cost would have been half as much.”
My mind hurts even thinking about this.
What would have happened had you just called the right person to begin with?
What would have happened if you didn’t have to pay someone to fix the problem?
Sound too good to be true?
